The upside of the world’s tallest hotel, recently renovated by Gianni Versace: giant security

Spend $7,270 for three nights in a property perched on the 46th floor of the tallest hotel in the world.

More than a hundred stories above New York, the St. Regis New York Times Square Hotel is 28 stories from bedrock and reaches a dizzying 1,432 feet.

“It’s an iconic structure,” said Kathleen Durbin, a spokeswoman for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. “The structure is the incredible thing about it.”

Along with two acres of terraced gardens, the hotel on 45th Street has private communal spaces in which to unwind.

Videos posted to Instagram show nightly celebrations, like the December New Year’s Eve bash with a projected block party on nearby buildings.

The hotel’s century-old skyscraper exterior reflects the city’s colorful buildings to the south. The dark-glass lobby with its circular fountain faces Broadway. The hotel is in Brooklyn, and includes a city-view garden deck.

The 42-room, $7,270-a-night residence — the recently-redesigned St. Regis is on the same building — is set on floor 452.

A private elevator accesses to a formal living room with cathedral ceilings, a lounge, bedroom and den, a shared library and a private chef’s kitchen.

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, one of the company’s more expensive brands, has 14 hotels in the New York area, including the $1,730-a-night St. Regis New York.
