On Monday, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrived in Seoul. It is the first visit by the North Korean leader in nearly a decade and coincides with the South Korea-US winter Olympics.
Reports suggest that Mr Kim is in good health despite having lost a significant amount of weight. The weight loss is likely due to his recent efforts to meet with other leaders of major nations.
Mr Kim’s 20kg loss is due to the efforts he has made to keep fit and healthy. He has taken a series of courses in ballet and enjoyed indoor running. North Korea’s state media has previously reported that North Korean athletes are once again training in Pyongyang, New York, Australia and Singapore for the Olympics.
Mr Kim is supposed to give talks with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, before his talks with US President Donald Trump.
His appearance during the Winter Olympics is almost unprecedented. And Mr Kim’s walk into the welcome committee of the unification ministry was greeted with applause from some of the Koreans there.
